The answer is quite simple. The world they created has heroes, maybe the one they are in has no heroes and man kind is slowly dying out. I know if I was having a naff time and created a world in a childish way id do same scenario but better out come

But I like this theory, perhaps it won't effect the outcome of our world, but perhaps it will give the characters in present time help, like say: Clearing up the amnesia in Nikolai and tank's head... It's already been done for takeo...
