A Perfect Batch of Randoms

I think I just had the best bunch of randoms anyone could ever ask for. All three knew exactly what they were doing. They opened doors (first sign of a good teammate), grabbed all staff parts and built the zombie shield before I even knew what happened. And most amazing of all, we completed the Easter Egg in about 1.5 hours time without even planning to do it from the beginning. After about two staves were built, someone just asked "Anyone wanna do the Easter Egg?" and we were off. It was incredible! Most randoms I play with spend all their points on the box, go down because they didn't have jug, rage quit, and leave me to play alone. But today was different. I think I had the perfect game of zombies, and it was awesome. I also now have 3 new names on my friends list to slay some zombies with now and again.

What was the best group of randoms you guys ever came across, and what made em so awesome?

Ha I had quite the opposite experience. I had two players quit because they got a down, not died out just went down and the third timed out some rounds later. I swear zombies lobbies are like two sides of the coin. Either you get a fun and supportive team or know it all jerks who talk about their high rounds until they quit out on round 7. I find the latter to be quite discouraging, but I still like to give people the benefit of the doubt and continue to play with randoms. I have several long time friends I met in randoms lobbies.

No doubt having a mic works wonders for you when playing Zombies. The simple act of having it in can make or break your game because players are less reluctant to leave a game when they have teammates who are verbally communicating to one another their goals, current situation, etc etc.

What you had was just great gold, friendo. I'm lucky if I can get a team that doesn't lose a person before Round 5. :(

Me and one of the people on my friends list were debating on rather we wanted to do the Easter in a custom match on a public game. We decided to go public. We found two people with mics on the first search and they seemed like decent players. One with a knife and one with a skull. One was 'younger' and one was 'older' but I decided we might as well try. It started with a bad start by me going down on round two from a generator zombie popping up behind me. Then someone went down reviving me and then a third went down :( I just laughed it off. We ended up completing the Easter egg on 21 and then just kept playing till 23 when after someone went down getting jug four panzers spawned in and the two people tat went to revive the first guy got trapped inside the tunnel. So we didn't want to risk it and had the last guy hit the beam to et the cutscene. GREAT RANDOMS :)

We define randoms by how much they cooperate with us on our goals for that day.

Some days I want randoms who can go to high rounds without interference.

Some days I want randoms who forego jug for the box to patch my revive totals.

Some days I want randoms who are smooth and communicative on the Mic.

Some days I want randoms who would surprise me.

Some days I want guys who are YouTube makers.

My friends list are loaded with guys who fit the above description.

Just don't be surprised if randoms do not always fit your goals.

Interesting, never quite thought of it that way before. It is true that I enjoy the occasional game with randoms where they continually go down and I get to play medic (as you can see by my signature), but it is very, very rare that this happens and all other players don't rage quit. I guess it all really does depend on the type of game you are looking to play.

Jay has a very great point.

Somedays, I find the randoms that are talking and trying to get others to talk, highly annoying.

Other days I complain that no one is talking.

Somedays I want a team of randoms that will go for high round goals.

Other days, I'm annoyed because the randoms are playing like they want to reach high rounds

("High rounds with randoms? are you kidding me? They must be dumb! They see that I'm downing over and over. They should just suicide and end it, we've been here for 2.5 hours.")

The only time I always disapprove is of quiters. But even then, sometimes, you just have to go. Things come up. Some people dont plan or expect for a game to last more than an hour or two.

Only people you can definitely verify are rage quiters deserve the hate.

But even then, respawning every round at round 20+ because you cant get enough points to buy jug before you down again isn't fun. Why would they stay?

Another good point. It amazes me when I see someone post a video on YouTube of them getting 100+ revives in a single game. Who seriously stays long enough to go down that often?

One of the most incredible videos I've ever seen of this is from TheRelaxingEnd (surprise surprise), he got 227 revives on FARM, which means he had no Krauss and only quick revive. I love that guy :D

When this happens, I blame my team and not the player. Getting 2500 should be easy if your team works well together

Agreed I don't condone rage quitting in any fashion, help them to a gun and let them take shots at your train until they have enough. The only time I quit is if I get in a lobby of glitchers or I attempt to look up their glitch online and try and knock them into a death barrier :)

Agreed. It's not difficult at all to help out the poor guy/gal in reaching a measly amount of points like that. Even having two people to help out makes the greatest difference. Train a horde and let them snag all the points they can, or bottleneck it with them in tight areas.

I do it all the time. And ask for help all the time. "yo throw your monkey so I can get jug." "yo let me escort you to jug" "Whoever is white(score color) go next to jug so he will spawn there".

Pics or it didn't happen :|

Just kidding lol, everyone once in awhile you'll get a good random, but I've never had the luck of finding a whole group at once, I'd have a better chance of getting the m1911 out of the box

On origins it wasnt bad randoms that made stop playing online but the so called good one. I just got asshole after asshole. Im not as good as some people on here but Im a 30+ solo or good team. I kept getting yelled at bc I went down. I guess my reason of its my less than tenth time playing the map wasnt good enough. I was in all games upfront that I didnt know the map and needed to be helped out in where things were. Shit would hit the fan and player 1 would get the hell out of there and say come to me, then I would go down and get chewed out I didnt know how to play bc I didnt go where I needed to. My response, I dont know where you are, I dont know the map. Lol Origins almost ruined playing online for me. I only play solo or with friends now since it was so annoying at the start. And these experiences were day 2 of the maps release.

That sucks, man. I hate playing against people who seem to forget they are playing a game. In fact, this reminds of something that happened the other day. I was in a lobby with randoms who, before the game started, sent me a message that said "You go down, we no revive." Now, why would that be? What could possibly be the point except to be a jerk? Going down is part of the game, and people need to realize it is going to happen at some point.

I actually LOVE playing origins with others. I go down in this map a little bit more than others map rather it be making a staff, or for some reason I get stuck in the mud. Whatever the reason, wherever you are most of the time you can get picked up.

And twirl if someone sent me that message I would have left in a heartbeat.

I was thinking about leaving, but I was curious to see if they would go down first just to have my own little "who isn't getting revived now?" moment (I would've revived them, it would just make me feel better if they went down first ;) ). They left on round 1 before the zombies even started spawning, so I didn't have to deal with them, luckily.

More than likely they were trying to get you to leave so they could play a 2-player game. Prob not the best way to do it but that's prob was their intentions

That's true, they could've been trying that. If they wanted that, they could've just asked

Lol the best group of randoms I ever met was 2 groups the first 2 times I tried origins on co-op. The first group was randoms that said "aw yea you know I have a YouTube channel." so I was like...eh ok. We got to round 23 all staffs built but no one knew how to get anything ultimate lol.

second group was even better. A 3 man party that was like "uh dude, you mind gettin the f*** out we're trying to do the Easter egg." I think this was more shotgun rank discrimination since they were all skull ranks, seriously shotgun people, stop making people think we're dicks -_-

So I said "well I did round 25 solo my second try mind if I play?" They let me, but then said what staffs were taking and left me to deal with the piece of crap annoying air staff. I went down 4 times trying to get into giants. But we got all staffs ultimate and made to rd 25. Weirdly though we were getting no max ammos, so I had them bring their mobs to Gen 2. Worked fine until the white guy tried it (I was green) and we died :(

I just played a great game with randoms on blops 1, no mic-ers at that. Dreams do come true!

I'm not sure how I feel about the whole ranking system. I feel like people back out because of it. Although having something to aim for (long term) in Zombies is pretty fun...I feel so undecided about the whole thing :|

And speaking of Black Ops 1, that reminds me of the (ONE) other time I had nearly perfect randoms. We got the Moon EE done, and although it took 3+ hours, we still finished it even after we had one person rage quit. Luckily he didn't leave until after we didn't need him anymore in the EE steps!

seriously man, it was so easy to find good randoms on bo1. More than half my friends list on ps3 was randoms I met in zombies who were good. Bo1 made it easy, just check leader boards for the lobby. I had every map 45+, and played with pretty much everybody who made it past round 20. I miss that :(

When dealing with randoms, I used to get emotionally taxed when things do not go how I planned. I used to complain how randoms for the most part do not cooperate with my objectives and goals. I would blame them for my deficiencies and shortcomings. Then I realized I'm the same jerk who failed to comply with other people's needs.

Just because the random you met that day did not want to do the EE that instance doesn't mean he or she is not a good teammate. Maybe he is the ideal high round partner and/or challenge specialist. Perhaps she can be that fun loving noob you always neglected but should team with. That annoying young squeaker was not built for challenges but perfect for that 100 revive game you always failed.

My point is that trying to convince them to fulfill your ideas is near impossible. Try tailor your plans to fit what they are designed to do.
