[ENDING CUTSCENE] Some things people overlooked...

Hey guys, this is my first time on this forum in FOREVER, so I thought I'd make a post about something I've been thinking about. In the ending cutscene, we learn that it was all supposedly a game that Richtofen and Samantha were playing. But, I have my doubts- so, I'll be discussing here what I think about this whole scheme about it being a game.

CONTENTS:

1. Who was this "Eddie"?

2. Items in the room

3. Accurate events

1. "EDDIE"- WHO IS HE?

Now, I'm guessing that most of you will be saying that Eddie is Richtofen, and yes, there is plenty of evidence to support that- the similar look, the craving for blue eyes, and the fact that he is playing with a Richtofen action figure. But, if my theory is correct, then this was not Richtofen at all.

SUPPORTING EVIDENCE-

a. His accent- Think about Richtofen. Think about how he talks. Now, think about his German accent and compare it to that of the kid in the video. This "Eddie" has no German accent, or anything near it; it actually sounds more American to me. And it's not like he someday just grew out of his American accent. So, why is his accent so different from the Richtofen that we know? The only possibility that I know of is that this boy is not Richtofen at all.

b. The action figures- Why would there be an action figure of Richtofen, but not Samantha, if it was just a game they made up? Wouldn't Samantha be jealous of Eddie since he had his own action figure and she had to roleplay as these random people all the time? Why would just Eddie have his own? That is, unless it wasn't his own... In that way, Samantha wouldn't be jealous of Eddie AND it would help build the theory that Eddie is not Richtofen.

With this info, it is my belief that this if NOT Richtofen, which helps disprove the theory that Nazi Zombies was just a game.

2. Items

The items scattered in the room could possibly have some significance. There are many that strike me as odd, and I will list some here.

a. MP40 on the wall- Behind Eddie and Samantha, you can see the chalk outline of an MP40 on the wall. Why is this here? Why would they need a chalk outline of an MP40? Perhaps to buy weapons from if a zombie were to break in to the house? But, that would only show that there was an outside force in the aether controlling a system of points- Which would show that the storyline we know could indeed be accurate.

b. Juggernog bottle- You can see a juggernog can under Eddie when he is playing with Samantha. How could he get this? And if he made it, what would he make it with? We can tell that it is the zombie apocalypse, since they have to bunker down in the basement and close all windows. What would they have to be protecting themselves from? And also, how would they be able to make such an intricately designed can?

c. The action figures- I don't even know where to start with this one. How could they make them? It's not like they could just go out and use a 3D printer, or get a company to make it for them, no, they must have made them by hand if they are just for their own game. So, how would they make these characters by hand? Do they have access to some machine or something that can help create metal or plastic figurines or materials?

This argument will hopefully show that the items in the room are simply extraordinary- a little bit too extraordinary, if you ask me.

3. ACCURATE EVENTS

If Samantha and Eddie really did create this whole storyline, then how would they be able to create every event that happened in the zombies storyline so accurately? How would the rise of the Nazi's be predicted, along with all of the major events then happened in the 1900's, and eventually, through 2025? How would they even be able to come up with what the futuristic world would look like, and how would they be able to come up with things that ACTUALLY happened- references to things like the Manhattan Project, and modern computers? Most people in the early 1900's would not even be able to imagine such things, let alone PREDICT THEM CORRECTLY!!!

So, use these points, and hopefully you guys can connect these to the big picture- Even though I don't know what the grand scheme of this is anymore. But, knowing Treyarch, they would never end the Zombies series like this- there's GOT to be something this community is missing.

You have made some very solid points, and I agree completely. The "it's just a game" mentality simply does not work, for it establishes that only the cutscene is canon, yet fails to take anything within the cutscene cohesively, failing to make any sense of it, for there is a lot within the cutscene that is a bit, as you say, extraordinary.

Though I agree with most of your points, I do like to point out that we can't rely on the accent to deduce Eddie's identity. Mainly because Samantha also has an American accent. Probably because Treyarch got a bit lazy and didn't hire proper actors for the job.

Still, I have stated in a few other threads before. Eddie may look similar to Richtofen, and may share the same taste (blue eyed zombies), but there's no solid evidence pointing to him being Richtofen himself.

Also, our characters' languages are way too mature and vulgar for two kids to come up with. I seriously don't wanna see these two grow up that way.

Remember, Treyarch always does the things they do on purpose, so I'm sure they had the American accent for a reason- but my question is, what is that reason? How will it tie into the storyline? Because Treyarch would never end something like this.

When completing the Origins easter egg, Samantha says the O4 were rewarded beyond their imagination or something, and that they would be safe forever, because Samantha would protect them.

I'm sorry, but is having them fight against zombies in various other maps a way of protection? I don't think so. Therefore I don't think the entire story was imaginary. Origins was probably, most likely I'd say.

Also, can someone please explain me why Origins was the beginning but also the end? When I first heard that would be the concept I immediately thought of time travel paradoxes, but this 'ending' actually doesn't end anything, does it?

I guess the "end" here would refer to the end of the world as you know it. Because, you know, it signifies the beginning of the zombies apocalypse. Not the actual apocalypse that happens after the Earth is blown up, but the events leading up to it.

theres atleast 6 posts about this already dude. read before u post...

He took time out of his life to point out how this cutscene can't be the real ending, and that's all you have to say.

Thanks. Real uplifting.

Now to the actual post, thank you for providing more proof that this ending isn't just a game.

MurderMachine, A buddy of mine and I were discussing after watching the cutscene the possibility that the cutscene itself takes place in Samanthas imagination, kind of like Sucker Punch. Sort of a coping mechanism, a way for her to escape the grim reality that she is trapped in someone else's body during a zombie apocalypse. Seeing as she occupies the body of Richtofen, as well as them both having experienced the Aether, this would then explain the existence of Eddie, as they are connected in a way. That or Eddie is just sort of an opposition she's created in her head, an imaginary friend of sorts. If you still think I'm crazy, then I point you to the final line in the cutscene, where she alludes to her father "having a plan". If she is indeed trapped, as was said at the end of Buried, then this would support my case. She is assuring herself that he is coming for her. One thing in the original post that really caught my eye was whenhe said that people have overlooked all of the historical elements and how Samantha would have knowledge of them. The two things that support this are the characters of Five and Call Of The Dead. Now historically while the characters in Five would have been alive before WW2, they were far from having the political positions they occupied at the time of the map. As for CotD, well, none of them were alive at the time. This would all have to make Samantha some sort of extraordinary Nostradamus type of figure if the cutscene were canon. As for objects in the room from these maps, I can only recall seeing the Golden Rod, which was also on Moon......so there's that. At the end of the day, I believe that the cutscene, and Origins for that matter, are a classic misdirect, meant to keep us looking at the wrong things until the next iteration is released. Yes, there are flaws to this theory, but it makes infinitely more sense to me than saying the cutscene is the end all be all.....that's just laziness in my opinion.

Still, Origins probably didn't really happen. Too many things don't quite fit, for example the mexican test subject. With the O4 already formed in 1918, why would Richtofen capture a Mexican?

The O4 went their separate ways after Origins. It's hard to actually reunite after all those years. So Richtofen went with whoever he could find.

Or maybe because back then Richtofen was not trusting Americans, and didn't want to use American test subjects.

Also, keep in mind that Richtofen already went insane at the point of getting test subjects. He probably doesn't even remember the other 3.
