New theory to explain the story!

Long ago, 4 powerful beings ruled over the Aether. Each being carried a staff. One of these beings was known as Mictlantecuhtli. He represented death and carried the Staff of Fire. These beings were so powerful they could control time. They used their powers to open portals to other dimensions. Hell, Agartha, and our dimensions. They each ruled over a dimension. Mictlantecuhtli ruled over Hell. When they came to our dimension, they found a civilization already there, known as the Vril-ya. This civilization worshipped the beings as gods. In return, the beings gave the 4 staffs to the Vril-ya. Mictlantecuhtli was crueler than the other beings. He made the Vril-ya sacrifice souls for him to eat. They could do this with sacrifice stones ,(Origins), or through an MPD (This is what the beings built so they could travel between dimensions faster. The more souls they fed him, the more powerful he became. He gained powers to speak to the humans and influence them. He would reward them with 115, which was what the aether was made of. Mictlantecuhtli became bored of Hell and wanted to do control another dimension. The other beings saw that he was getting to powerful and punished him by making him stay in Hell forever. Mictlantecuhtli was mad. He used his powers to speak to the human who had the Staff of Fire. He drove him crazy and turned him evil. He betrayed the other humans with staffs and used 115 on them. But he did not know the consequences. The society which had built two great cities (Shangra-La and one in Northern France) became infested with the living dead. This is the chaos that Mictlantecuhtli wanted. Because the Vril-Ya were directly affected by 115, their eyes were purple. Mictlantecuhtli promised the human who he had influenced a great power if he entered the Aether through an MPD. The rest of the Vril-Ya were destroyed or living dead. The other 3 beings were shocked and mad. They destroyed all of the MPD's expect for one (Moon). And also buried and hid the remains of the Vril-Ya and the staffs so this apocalypse would never happen again. Without any connection, Mictlantecuhtli was stuck in Hell "forever" and fell into a great sleep.

Years Later...

1918...

The Germans unearthed 115 whilst in Northern France. This unleashed the undead Vril-Ya, and awoke Mictlantecuhtli.

Mictlantecuhtli, who could see into the future, saw that 4 men who met here would unite and destroy him, becoming the new rulers of the Universe. He realized that he could stop this by influencing one of them to help him take the Universe over. He disguised himself as Dr. Maxis's future daughter and began speaking to them, offering them riches if they freed him. But Richthofen knew something wasn't right and didn't listen to him, successfully escaping and putting down the outbreak. (This isn't the origins we play in.)

MoTD takes place in Hell and Mictlantecuhtli is the controller

Group 935 continued to work with 115, using it to create weapons inspired by the staffs.

They also wanted to control the undead as super soldiers.

You know this story...

Anyway, Richthofen was teleported to the MPD. When he touched it, he heard all the voices of the sacrificed souls, and Mictlantecuhtli spoke to him again. Like the Vril-Ya human, This drove him insane. Mictlantecuhtli told him to capture the other OG 3 so they could all be together when he killed them.

So the whole betrayal thing happened and Samantha ( who was now Maxis's legit daughter) went into the MPD.

Mictlantecuhtli influenced her when she got in there and used her to raise the undead. (He is still stuck in Hell)

Samantha isn't evil. Just under control by Mictlantecuhtli. Fluffy basically became Ceberus, who was Mictlantecuhtli's pet.

Cut forward to Der Riese

Humans weren't meant to use Time travel, so when this happened. The dimensions began to mess up.

Cut forward to Shangra-La

The Golden Rod and the stone were gifts from Mictlantecuhtli to the Vril-Ya. Richthofen knows all this because he is basically possessed by Mictlantecuhtli. At Moon, Richthofen replaces Samantha in the Aether. Mictlantecuhtli originally wanted Richthofen to help him because he is one of the chosen 4. Samantha is scarred for life even though she is free from the Aether. Now with Richthofen in the Aether, and the OG4 on Moon, Mictlantecuhtli has won, but Maxis is in the way.

Cut forward to Die Rise.

Samuel was in The Flesh, who worshipped Mictlantecuhtli. Because of this, he can hear him

Because Richthofen is basically Mictlantecuhtli by now. He has the demonic voice and can control time. Now Mictlantecuhtli wants to stop Maxis and fix the rift in time the OG4 created. Because if this Rift, things showed upin different time periods.

Now to Buried.

The New 4 die there. Whatever ending you chose doesn't really matter. Why? Samantha, has gone back in time from the teleporter on Moon to Origins to stop Mictlantecuhtli before he could cause the damage he did. When she traveled, because of the rift, she landed in Agartha instead of our dimension. This is the Origins we play. She knows that Mictlantecuhtli is going to follow her so she is Impatient with our characters. After the Easter egg is done, she is free from Agartha, and our 4 our sent back to the time of the Vril-Ya, with the staffs. Here they can fight Mictlantecuhtli before he ever does anything, and carry out their destiny. (Mictlantecuhtli is the ancient evil)

Very interesting, but that leaves a few questions:

Given the nature of COD, we arn't moving towards ancient weaponry, chances are we'll be seeing more advanced weapons that arnt available back then so... Where does that teleport send the O4? It can't send them back to this time, that would mean branching off from the reality you have and making a paradox....

There is a time paradox (the rift in time) that's why there are guns from different time periods in the maps, there perks in MoTD, and Earth is slowly being destroyed by the rift. Also there is a photograph in Origins, that shows the OG4 being worshipped by the Vril-Ya. And they are carrying the staffs and wearing Vril-Ya armor.

What rules of time are we following? If we are following Lost's rules than whatever happened already happened. Meaning they can't kill The Lord of the Undead. But were most likely following the other rules of time. Which then a paradox will happen, ultimately destroying the Universe.
