Characters Downed

What do thy characters say when they have been downed, they seem to be talking to themselves but do anyone know what they are saying?

If you scroll down onto the Mob of the Dead area, you'll find the long paragraphs where each characters gives some backstory about their personal lives when downed.

I think it's just a contemplation thing. I agree it is kind of strange to have them go off on these lengthy back stories when downed, but when the N4/O4 was downed we wouldn't hear anything. All the more reason to believe that MOTD takes place far away from the story we know.

I imagined that it would simply be to create a more complete story form the characters, they only get one map so there is no time to build up a back story through multiple maps, which is possible with the N4/O4

No other quotes are trigger-able when downed so it was a good time to throw some back-story in, form a non gameplay perspective your idea of it being contemplation is a good explanation. Personally I found it to be a nice surprise when I first heard them and found them very interesting
