How do you like the new extinction map Mayday?

How far did you make it?

What strategies did you use?

What crafting items did you build? Which ones are your favorite?

What are the new cryptids like?

Dig deep and explain everything.

I love the new gun Ripper, it literally rips though cryptids (aliens)

The new enemy Seeder seems to be really annoying although it can give you around 1000-1250 points. So, be sure to use your money before you max it.

I had a pleasure of playing this map right after dlc release with #Flammenwefer (I wish the tag system works) and 1 more random and we destroyed about 4-5 hives. We failed at the spot where we need to defend and deploy the hive remotely.

I love crafting items but then again it is becoming a bit more complicated like buildables from zombies, finding stuff and building it.

I think from what I seen yesterday #Flammenwerfer was able to make a rhino friendly using a crafting item. We also built a Tesla trap and pipe bombs. Locker keys are also pretty common.

Teeth:

Oh by the way if you don't know about new armory system check out this video from our forums very own #Flammenwerfer You now get "Teeth" as reward from killing cryptids and destroying hives and by doing several other things. With these teeth you can buy things from your armory that will permanently boost your character accordingly.

Anyways how do you like this map so far, I think it is fantastic map with lots of variety and potential to be the best extinction map so far.

The map seems to play slower than the previous two in the begining. At least to me. As you work your way into the map, it gets a lot more intense though.

I like the sticky flares or whatever they are. They're very useful.

The new aliens that replaced spitters can be a bit annoying, but if you kill them fast, they're not a problem.

I've not really payed much attention to anything else though.

God, tried this map about 3 times so far.

It really is a mix between what the **** and OWMAGAWD.

I have to admit, the crafting is pretty damn cool. I am absolutely loving the new Venoms. I never used the old one, but I still am in love with the FX.

The new boss is cool, but I hate this map solely for the reason that after like 1 hour, I'd only made it to Hive 7. And the Seeders.

Played part of one game, i was tired, waiting for my friend to finish up his bathroom routine before he heads out.

So i played on easy mode, just ran through some hives and doors. It definitely seems a little more engaging, but that was my very limited time exposed to it (i quit when he was done, it was bedtime for 83457).

But i felt more desire to replay this than i felt with the last pack or the poc map.

I don't have enough experience to answer your questions any better than that.

Edit: i did enjoy the new Cryptid that spits acid and makes plant turrets. It was a worthy addition. I didn't see the Kraken released.

I did get one of the weapon X variants (red), it was cool enough.

Try not to get the Amethyst Biolium when you're building the Venom-X unless you are being the support member of the team. It creates little gunners like the Seeder's which are not as effective against the Cryptids as the Seeder's are against you.

Love the Hypno Trap, and once I've got my Venom I always try to have one on me for when you get a few Rhinos. Nothing more fun than seeing 2 or 3 Rhinos battling it out.

Update 2: Completed the mission like 5 times, each time with randoms. It is actually one of the easiest maps to beat. I tell you why. You are provided with lots of new weapons, tactical items like sticky flares and traps that can turn rhinos friendly. Seeder can be easily dealt with.

Here is the strategy in short. Engineer i s optional. It is better to have at least 2 medics, a tank and a weapons specialist. All upgraded with armory. Weapons specialist takes down seeders right away. Engineer can take down the sprouts from seeders as they are weak. Sentry's are a no-no too much open spaces and lots of cryptids. Go with either an IMS or quadrator. Make sure you have at least 2 guys with armor and one guy with boosters. Armor is the key. Prepare to lose a lot of health when you battle kracken. But before that I will tell you that don't go crazy on crafting items or boxes. Save them until you get the venom schematics. This way all 4 players have parts available quickly. All 4 venoms are good. Only thing you need to remember is ONLY refill venom ammo when you use 4 out of 6. Because the Venom drop generally carries 4 shots. For kracken don't panic and go easy when it is not red. Kill the cryptids and get prepared. Once it turns red, get to the turret and start shooting. Make sure you drop multiple armors. And save your money for armor. Shields are very useful although not must. I would not vote for Ferrel either. My favorite guns are Mtar (no reload needed, big clip) LSAT (big ass clip but takes forever to reload without team boosters but perfect to kill seeders and their sprouts in one clip) and finally the upgraded sniper (another great gun for seeders). Shotguns are also good, but only when you are a weapons specialist. The upgraded Medic and other classes are great. Simply double tap up on your d-pad to activate it and it will automatically revive any downed players in your 5 feet radius. It stays for 8 seconds. Another good buy for armory is protection from seeKers. I can't stress you how many times I died because I was focused on seeDers and rhinos and a group of seeKers just surprised me. It is cheap and only costs 5 points.  Most randoms I find for this map are decent and have mics. Just tell them what to do and they will listen to you. I.e. not opening any tool boxes for parts. Everything else if pretty easy. Just remember the class setups, medics and weapon specialists are way to go. I don't have much time to break this down into paragraphs so pardon me. If this hurts someone's eyes I may break it down later. But I think it is a decent read for those that are pursuing to beat the kracken.

Adios.

I've played about 3 games with randoms.   Seems the same as the other 2.   Havent built any special guns or anything i guess you can do that stuff.  Seems like they're trying to introduce new elements, but its so abstract.  I'll keep giving it a fair shot, but i can't get into this mode.

Wouldn't even be buying the dlc's except i get so many free xbox card codes from bing rewards and never have enough things to spend them on lol :P

Clay, if you are on x1 I can play some extinction with you dude. I only play ghosts mp and extinction. And when I see friends online, I play zombies time to time. I don't play any other games on xbox unfortunately.

Also Clay, about the power weapon like venom x guns it reminds of me black ops wonder weapons but every one gets one of a kind, green, blue purple and yellow, and it is very easy to build and find parts. Not like Black ops where the parts are random thrown each game and needing a build-able bench. You just have to find a schematic from one out of three work benches found in the map. And to craft, you just press select and press x. And you are ready to go.

I played another 1 whole game on Mayday. I beat 8 hives solo before it got me.

I built hypno trap, Tesla trap, pipe bombs, sticky flares.

On the remote drill part; what a pain in the bum. I went out, climbed that lone high container that you can walk through, dropped a sentry gun up there and was then able to beat that part.

I liked this one over the last map because it was easy to see and you moved around to new areas, as opposed to fighting many hives in one area.

I wish that the door battles would give a skill point.

I really wish they would make the kniving in this game a lot better (all modes).

I'll definitely get some more extinction time in eventually, still addicted to Safeguard...

Glad to see you are enjoying this. I am giving a break and been playing multi player maps with clanmates recently. If you ever want to party up on xbox one for ghosts, let me know. I'm always down.

Groovy. I knew that I'd eventually play this more as my obsessions with codmp and Safeguard eased off.

I did the opposite of you: I played ghosts since about new years and have 4 60p, 1 57, 1 50, 1 lvl1 guys. Now I'm breaking from that.

Mostly Safeguard, but that's late night with a buddy. So I was trying to not play mp nor ruin the fun of Safeguard by playing it too much and extinction was right there...

I built the hypno trap while dreaming of nabbing 2 Rhinos...then i set it by the one door, drilled, got a Rhino. Then i set it by the other nearby door and see my Rhino battling another. I set my trap down between them, he touched it and I had 2 Rhinos (strategy tip: Hunters or Teleporting/blue Hunters or Scorpions and possibly Seeders are all actually better choices). Overall, they only helped through one round. They aren't that great at fighting other Craptids. But, it did save me from 2 1-vs-1 battles with Rhinos.

Also, i kept getting a cryptid under the floor in the start area of Mayday in solo.

Just had my first game and got to the venom-X bit. I like this one more than the other 2 because Its tighter and more intense, also the crafting and extra areas are great. Planning to play it a lot on the weekend.

Arghhh. Played extinction Mayday after 2 weeks. Randoms with No mics, made it to kraken and mission failed with 1% of krakens health left. It was fun though to shoot and blow everything away with my sentry grenade and motor strikes.

Not the 440 big block, noooo-cryptids.

Sorry, had to laugh at the motor strike.

I was just gonna say that i have had pretty good use out of sentries. I find that the game design works well with them. Shrug, just my 2 cents. I do trust your thoughts on the game mode though, given your experience.

Thanks for posting tips and stuff as i am trying this out a little more.

haha Yep, i try new things to keep the game fun, motor strikes because I know most of the map once you get to the venom schematics is pretty open, Especially where the kraken is. Haha. It was really funny cause I had 30 revives and the randoms literally got me stuck in the end b ysentry turret and they would act as a body shield to me and die every 2 seconds. I died after getting my 20th consecutive revive. My sentries and motors did some work but at the end I can't finish the kraken in time.
