Origins cutscenes: the storyline isn't over

Welcome to my first post on these forums and today I am bringing you my theory on the true meaning behind the Easter egg end cutscene in origins.

Few things first: to really understand this theory you need a clear understanding of 1.the zombie storyline 2. A consept of how time is now one way flowing. This theory is quite complex as well so it is a bit long

Also I would like to point out this is a theory, A THEORY.

Let's begin:

Many people believe that the origins cutscene (end) shows that the maps and it's characters are imaginary and the Sam and eddy playing is reality. I believe that this is wrong and kinda the other way round. The maps are reality and the cutscene is a metaphor, showing a part of the story that we missed. When you watch the cutscene, there is one thing to point out, the moon through the window. It is either a cresent moon OR going through an eclipse. Why is this important? Well what maps have aspects with the moon and eclipse. Shangri la, der riese and of course moon. Which is a strange connection as my theory has these maps strongly connected with it. Another thing to point out, in the room there is only 6 perk bottle on the shelf and jug on the floor, meaning 7 in total when their is 12/13 in the whole storyline. Also the tranzit crew are under the bed.

Now you know the details let's get into the theory:

The zombie storyline says that in der riese richtofen locked Sam and maxis in the room with the hell hound and they escaped through the teleporter. Apparently they were split up and Sam was transported to griffen station on the moon. I think this is wrong. Treyarch said that shangri la had "their best kept secret" and I believe this BUT I don't think it is that it is on mars, we can breath, theirs life, grass and water. Mars does not. However their was a a lot of connections to agratha." Which is of course in origins. Also their is a quote from maxis in the taps on origins that say " is it possible that 115 is disrupting the fabric of space and time" this means that things from the future and past can come to the present. This is why the box has future weapons. I believe that Sam wasn't teleported to moon straight away she was teleported to Agartha in shangril la. She is in shangri la and calling for help. ( I do not know if shangri lla is set in the future or past but doesn't matter either way) because of this 115 disrupting time, we can hear her in origins. Therefore this was their secret. Now when you complete the origins Easter egg you release her from argatha and she goes to moon. And so the story continues as usuall. So this cutscene is just a metafphor to show this. Their is 7 perk bottles in the cutscene, up to shangril la it was the last map that had 7 perk bottles in the storyline. Sam says you will get your turn tomorrow, the cutscene is about shangri la the next map was moon, where richtofen takes over. They were playing with the characters in their old clothes not the ones in origins, the ones in shangri la. The eclipse moon. They can't all be coincidence.

The new characters are under the bed, because by this time (shangri la) they were not in the story line. Sam says "my dad has a plan" in moon it's maxis' idea or PLAN to blow up earth to stop richtofen.

Anyway guys tell me what you think, if I'm right or not. Thanks for reading

It's a decent theory, but there is a lot of stuff in the sequence that goes against it. Samantha is playing with the O4 in older dress, but she was going up against a MotD and Buried zombie with them. It also would be poor to just offer a sequence that was actually only supposed to be viewed as a metaphor.

Interesting, but I just feel there is too much on show that suggests otherwise. Sorry.

Considering that call of duty is now following a 3 year cycle, giving us a Easter egg in a cutscenes like a metaphor would make sense to work it out over the 2 years. Also the MOTD and buried zombies represents that the events are happening cross to or more timelines suggesting that the future and past exist together. Also having the whole of the storyline that has existed for over 3 games be the work of 2 kids in my opinion is a poorer end that one that gives the community something to think about Edited by SIMLzombieslayer

I think it was the best way to put an end to the mess that the storyline became to be honest. You mention the past and future coming together earlier in your comment... this is why the storyline ran away with itself and is full of contradictions and mistakes, as well as abandoned ideas.

We can speculate all day over it, but at the end of the day the storyline is a mess and was put together without any real consideration. The ending makes perfect sense seeing as we were running around a work full of magical perks, power-up drops that give up POINTS!?, insta-kills, Nukes, etc. Even the characters often broke the 4th wall in-game, referring to "the player" many times. Everything points to it being a game.

The only way it will change is if Treyarch cave in and change it to suit the community again just like they did through out BO2, and if that is the case then expect the next zombie outing to feature the O4 again in all the maps (except maybe 1 celeb special), and it to have another poor storyline. People need to let go of this storyline and let them try something else.

Either way, we will not know for sure for another 18 months.

The storyline is loved by hundreds and thousands of people and I know of many people who I talk to and people on YouTube who believe this was a cheap way out. Zombies is centred around the point systems and magical perks, it's what makes zombies unique taking it away destroys what zombies is. Finally it you acually pay attention to the storyline it does make sense, it's the way people talk about it that makes it sound complicated. I am almost sure that majority of people will want zombies to stay the way it is and not sway away from the point sytem and perk a cola bottles.

Perks and points can stay but I want new story (as someone who has followed the story since World at War).

Yes, it was a cheap way out, but it was still a way out and I believe that is what they have opted for. The game has run it's course in it's current form and need to be reinvented.

I am not sure what you mean by "Finally it you acually pay attention to the storyline it does make sense"!? I know the storyline pretty damn well. More so than many, and have actually played and followed the game-mode since the the very beginning. The community helped mold the storyline back in the beginning and the creation of Samantha is down to this very forum. They went with community ideas and expanded upon them. They never had a set storyline to go with so made it up as they went along. Unfortunately, mistakes were made, and decent ideas were abandoned, like GK Nova, Peter, Broken Arrow etc. There was also some conflicting issues with the storyline that the community is still very much divided on, like when Moon takes place.

Having a chance (and time) to actually reinvent zombies is what they need. Trying to hang onto this current storyline is the type of thing to kill of the game entirely. The community is so frustrating at times. I was happy to see a new group and a new perspective on things with BO2, but the community cried and cried and I am sure that is what led to Origins instead of their original planned map or storyline.

As for the points system... I have seen PTG (or Benn specifically) say that the next game will not have points or perk, so if it was true it would make the Origins ending make perfect sense. They could of course be wrong, but it would be a nice change to the game-mode. Personally I don't care about any of that stuff at the minute and will be taking it as hearsay, but what I do want to see is a complete change to the storyline, be it from a completely different perspective, or an alternative storyline altogether.

The current storyline showed just how fragile it was through out Black Ops 2, and I really do not want to see a repeat in the next game.

Why do i feel like Treyarch gets off on proving us wrong? I feel like theyre reading all the theories they can find just so they can come up with something else.lol thats MY theory.

however i like ur thinking. The outro does seem to have a lot of.... shit.....everywhere. lol. possibly symbols maybe? like the characters under the bed?
