Empire [ 2300 ]

skyscraper-at-night-karla-kernz.jpg

Story: The year is 2300…..a Long time ago this entire city was altered into the most fortified safe zone in America. However…..it is Overpopulated.

( You see the city from Afar as a Plane approaches only to be shot down )

At first the City was a glorious location enhanced with Archangel Technology to make life easier. Everything within the city was controlled from the tower of babble, the tallest skyscraper within the Empire. However as the years went by more and more refugees from the outside world began to join the Empire. With not enough room in the main City, Theodore Thompson, CEO of Archangel decided to expand the city limits. However with less resources to go around, these new areas became Slums… now something has breached the walls…something unexpected which has let the zombies in….

The Slum Streets; Streets filled with shops selling food, old weapons, and trinkets. Much of the rooms are blocked off by trash instead of Debris. There are many bodies here. Civilians who never had enough money to buy real weapons. They died trying to survive. The slums are dirty, Filthy, and poor. Behind the slums there is an exit point out of the city however it can not be accessed.

The Library; A large Library consisting of thousands of Books from before the apocalypse. The Library is actually one of the largest Indoor areas in the Map. With 2 Floors, Many windows, and different places to Train, The library is also the place where you can find Blue Prints to upgrade Buildables. You can jump down from the first floor to the second floor if you have PHD Flopper

The Tower of Babel: The tower is the Homeplace of all the most important people in the City. It is also the Headquarters for what used to be the Archangel Corporation. The Tower is like a Separate map and can be played as such due to the fact that it contains many different areas. Every location can be accessed by elevator. The main lobby is luxurious. In fact most of the walls are made of Glass and crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling. These chandeliers can be shot down so that they crash on top of enemies.

Labs: The Labs are Mostly Unused due to the Deaths of most of the knowledgeable people. Science has stopped. However you can cook up something in here if you have the right Blueprints. The tables are set into rows and columns so it is not easy to train. One zombie comes through an unexpected route and if you are reloading your whole train crashes. Much of the equipment in here has been covered up in tarps

The Armory: The Armory is filled with all sorts of weapons. Assault rifles, Sniper Rifles, LMG, SMG, etc. You can immediately grab weapons from the wall at no charge however once you grab a weapon it will no longer respawn within the armory. This is a good place to grab another starting pistol if you want a mustang and sally later on.

The Penthouse: A luxurious area with a view of the entire map. The penthouse is a medium sized area with few obstacles to get in your way. However don’t get too comfortable because zombies will spawn in from many locations, Ventilation Shafts, windows, open doorways etc. You can turn on the monitor and view what else is happening around the city. There is a Wall here and on it there is a portrait of a young girl with milky white eyes. She holds a picture of a woman and beside her is Thompson looking years younger.

Characters

Lyle: A mechanic from the Slums. He has been fixing Cars for quite a while. Thanks to Archangel Cars are now Solar powered however due to lack of resources are also somewhat cheaply made. Some people pay top dollar for a way out of this city though. Flaws or not. As a mechanic he gives them that opportunity. However once his customers leave, none ever return.

Heather: A librarian in the Middle class area of the city. She loves Books and will sometimes quote from the books she has read. She is extremely interested in the outside world. She wants to see it all, what remains from Human Society from before the undead appeared.

Logan: A hitman. Sometime It’s not just one person who decides to leave the city but a whole group of people. As a Hitman Logan’s job is to give an example of what happens when a large group tries to defect. He is feared by many and loved by none. However in this time of crisis he is willing to team up with the others if it means getting out of the city alive

Gregory: A priest. Ever since the dead started to rise many people gave up their faith in God. They believe god is dead or does not exist. God has since then been forgotten but Gregory is one of the few that still has some sort of faith.

Zombie Models

Slum Zombies: Reanimated Civilians. Usually wearing Coats and jackets to stay warm.

Outsider zombies: Zombies from the outside world. Many of them wear survival gear while others wear old civilian clothing.

Archangel Zombie: Zombies wearing Archangel Uniforms. Jumpsuits and Vests

Enforcer Zombie: A zombie wearing what used to be a bulletproof uniform. Once a man who enforced the laws. Now a flesh craving zombie immune to all damage but headshots.

Archangel Civilian zombies: Civilians from the rich side of town. Wearing suits, dresses, almost as if they were living in the past with no cares about the undead

Buildables

Acid Bomb: A grenade created by mixing many chemicals together within the Lab. If Japan can do it why can’t America? Splashes the undead with Acid that burns through their flesh. Any Zombie caught in the Blast will be effected.

Grim Blades: A set of Blades attached to Gloves. Slice and Dice the Undead. Use the Knife button to Use these Blades for close range combat.

New Game Objective

Blue Prints: Creating Buildables is something all survivors should know. Now you can create more powerful Buildables by obtaining Blueprints.

List of Blue Prints

Baptism Bomb: After Creating the Acid Bomb. Add some new components to create the Baptism Bomb. Does the same thing as the Acid Bomb however it also creates a Puddle on the Ground that burns through any undead that walks over it.

Blades of Glory: After Crafting the Grim Blades find some superior metals in order to create more powerful Blades. Capable of Slicing through even the toughest structures. Slice more that one Zombie at a time.

Bosses

NO. 0 The Fool: Fool Returns once more and like before will only watch you as the game goes by. As you complete the easter Egg you might see his Blue eyes appearing from the ceiling or behind some debris. Always watching your movements. Unlike Lockdown, Fool can not be harmed and he will not harm you.

Final Boss ( Season 1 )

NO.4 The Emperor: The Emperor is an AI and the Final Boss of Season 1. Long ago Theodore Thompson, Head of Archangel created his own empire within the city. As time went by he began to replace his decaying body with new bionic parts in order to extend his lifespan and continue to rule over his Empire. Thus he became more machine than man and became….The Emperor. Theodore no longer seems to remember who he was before his transformation but he does know one thing. He remembers a young girl in the past.

The emperor will attack you with the Staff of Lightning. Getting hit with electricity will cause your player to not only take damage but to slow down for a bit. You will need to keep firing at the emperors head. The back part to be exact. Shooting the emperor anywhere else will still damage it but much less. Whenever bullets make contact with the Emperor it will slowly break the surface of his skin and reveal metallic parts. Once completely exposed he will resemble his brethren, The Fool, and Judgement.

Easter Egg:

Step 1: Open all doors

Step 2: Gain Premium Citizenship cards. Find on corpses

Step 3: Access the Tower of Babel.

Step 4: Open all areas in the Tower of Babel

Step 5: Turn on the Power generator so that the Slums can have more power

Step 6: Enter the Library and Find a special Book within the restricted section of the library ( Needs power for security to let you in)

Step 7: Use the Book in a hidden bookcase that is missing a book

Step 8: The bookcase will flip revealing stairs.

Step 9: Climb the stairs and reach the Penthouse

Step 10: Find the portrait in the Penthouse and behind it there is a button

Step 11: Press it

Step 12: Kill The Emperor

Step 13: You are rewarded with the Staff of electricity

Step 14: Go back to the slums and stand near the exit point.

Ending

You get a view of the city as rows and rows of Jeeps, trucks, vans, and weaponized vehicles begin to leave the city limits.  The once glorious Empire is burning down. All the Archangel Technology is destroyed save for one thing…The Staff of Lightning. Lyle takes it with him and leads the people away from the destruction into an uncertain future. As they pass the Great Wall, they see a giant Hole broken through it….what could have done that..

Secret Ending

You see an Overhead view of the City as you see it burning from up above. However the view begins to Zoom out frame by frame. The screen turns into a type of map layout. The screen switches view to another location somewhere around the world. The camera zooms out revealing a surveillance Satellite orbiting earth…..Archangel logo on the side and with red letters on the side a single word..

…..Oracle….

The Screen Blacks out.

That was really nice. I loved the return of the Fool, the Grim blades were a cool concept and the Emperor fit really well. The augmentation thing fit the idea of Theodore wanting to rule his empire. This was really good dude I hope the next few maps are as interesting as well :)
