@TheNathanNS  the "cool" thing to do now after AW is to blame this (and everything else) on Skill based match making or SBMM as the kids like to call it ;)

but seriously, my first impressions after playing for an hour or so, I had fun, but the movement system is going to take me a long time to get used to.  Still learning how all the weapons are.  I heard a lot of people saying in the PS4 beta that the time to kill was really low, and either they came straight from playing halo, or they nerfed all the weapons before the xbox beta because I was getting hitmarkers and assists galore.

This is phenomenal. The movement is really good, hard to get used to but after a few matches it comes naturally. I hate hunted but I love all the other maps. Oh and the graphics are really good, better than any game I have played on XB1,

I agree the graphics look great.  Even a step up from advanced warfare, which is surprising to me for a beta.

So far I'm thinking the BO3 beta is like AW and BO2, which took some getting used to. To me BO3 is more a sequel to BO2 than it is to Ghosts or AW.  Those both added lots of options, customization, speed, and things like exo suits.  This is more traditional and refiined.  I think their goal is more balance and competition, instead of unfair but fun.

So it's a step back on movement from AW, but I love that I can just move over obstacles and do a modest double jump and just get around the map faster and easier.  It took me a while to get used to AW MP, which I now really love.  Might be the same thing here.

But this is just a beta so they are leaving lots of stuff out: some weapons, lots of attachments, perks, game modes, theater mode and private matches and training, specialities, the whole GunSmith customization, kill streaks, etc.  They've got 2 months to polish it all too.

I think also it's fun playing some of the other game modes.  Domination was way more fun last night that TDM.  Hardpoint was crazy great, and I'd like to try out Search and Destroy too.  They will be adding another mode that everyone loves later in the beta, where you escort a robot around the map - it's like a mobile capture point that brings the chaos to one place.

The specialists are just a fancy way to pick your special ability.  I like those abilities a lot, mixes things up.  But I hope they add to it somehow.  I'm sure they will have game modes with no specialies, just like AW has no exo game modes.

I do hope they bring back the 3 best features from AW MP.  The Firing Range where you can test your loadout instantly while in Create a Class.  The attachments and perks you can add to your Scorestreaks. And all the character customization, like clothes, hats, armor, equipment, etc, but I bet they don't this one.

Overall it's good, not great, but I'm putting my faith in Treyarch.  There is also lots of other stuff to see where Campaign, MP, and Zombies will have a seemless overlap, and a customizable Safehouse that is your place, and your friends can jump into, and gets you around the different modes and shows what you've complished.  More details to come there.

I'm positive zombies will be awesome. And campaign will be great too, since it's 4 player coop. MP, I'll wait and see, but will keep playing the beta while it's around.

I like the BO3 MP beta much better than AWs MP, i like how you cant boost in every direction possible. And I'm used to exo jumping now, when you realize that doesnt work in BO3, you also realize its nothing like the exo suit. I also like the maps they have given us, with probably Hunted being my favourite.

I think the new movement system is far better than the one in AW, transitions from vaulting over objects and wall running is beautifully seamless. And it also feels like a natural progression from Black Ops 2, which was my favorite of the series so far. Map designs are classic Treyarch, and are just as good as ever. I am even more hyped for zombies now with this awesome first impression from just the Beta alone.

Thrust system gets an A. Love moving from wall to wall and poppin out on motherfuckas.

Graphics get a B (for beta, bitchesssssss)

Hit detection gets a B-

Guns design gets an A. Love that everything seems replicated off of classic CoD guns. MP 40 STG, UPM 45, Stakeout, they're all there.

Overall it gets a B+. Some minor issues that I'm sure will be addressed.

Excited for the full release.

It has been 3 years and this issue STILL exists!

The alternative would be ghost town lobbies.

I rather take this than a boring 3 vs 6 match.

Okay so here we go, since WaW PC player speaking.

Weapons: Great balance, snipers feel like they actually pack some power, every gun fills their specific roles except for XM-53 that fills the pistol role in many builds on PC, pistols feel bit weak.

Perks: Variety over cruch, no perk feels “must” at the cost of them being kinda meh unless you spend lots of points to perks, this good.

Create ’o’ Class: Looks kinda silly but works like expected, 6 attachments for primary is a nice touch on variety.

Balance: Nice in general, endgame scorestreaks need a tad of tuning up and flinch is bit of an overkill.

Specialists: The lines they throw at different parts of the game are awesome, the more there are the better.

Abilities: Bring lots of strategies into the game and don’t really impact the flow of the game in negative way

Weapons: DotA style: sure it’s op, but everyone gets it so it’s fiiine.

Scorestreaks: Early game streaks feel a bit too powerful and the Dart is unusable on PC due to horrific controls. Round of applause on the powercore, it finally does what EMP should, no lock-ons etc.

Equipment: Smoke? EMP? 4Chan? Eternal stunlock? There are so much strong candidates to choose from!

Lethals: All the lethals feel great, nothing more to say here.

Attachments: Attachments work really well for the most parts, they do what they are meant for except the nerfs on stock and rapid fire feel bit too drastic from the last game. And don’t even get me started on the thermal. It’s the most sexy part of the game, it’s almost on par with MMS from Black ops 2 on my favourite attachments list. Plz no nerf ;~;

Graphics: Just outright gorgeous, colourful yet it has that realistic dark vibe to it. Lots of variety for higher and lower end rigs (personal: solid 110fps with high settings).

Game modes: I know spawns are bit rough during the beginning so I’ll skip those completely. The safeguard game mode is awesome. I was sceptic at first, but turned out it’s pretty 50/50 and balanced.

Map design: They are big enough, but lack the really long sight lines. Lots of flanking routes for everyone, easy to predict enemy movements, 3Archs specialty, *slow clap*.

Counter play: Every single thing has a counterplay mechanic, bravo.

seems like they have done quite a bit of weapon nerfing?  the TTK seems quite a bit higher now at the end of the beta than it did at the beginning.   Starting to seem like I will be playing only hardcore again

I prefer these modern CODs more than the theme of WaW, however i would be interested in going back to BO1 - i liked that time period, you were a bit more advanced than WW2, but it wasnt all laser exo suit BS. Plus the zombies is the main part of COD for me, and even if the main game is futuristic or set in the past, zombie maps are not tied to a specific period, like how the giant will be set in the WW days unlike the main campaign of BO3, but the third map we might get probably will be set in the future. I like that variation of maps as there is something for everyone.

As for thoughts on the BO3 beta, i have played it on Xbox One and enjoyed it so far, much better than AW MP.

I managed to play the PS4 beta off his device last week.

I was thoroughly impressed.

I felt the health of each player was a bit low, but aside from that, movement was great. Only being able to thrust forward while sliding took some time to get used to, but it really adds to the game once you take away the ability to thrust forward when you want.

The specialist were good, but I wish I could have played as seraph or Reaper. I really want to know who the last character is as well, and I think I've heard somewhere that it's a pyro-type guy with a flame-thrower. Bit disappointing if it is, and a waste. I mean surly that weapon would need to be the one to be play-tested and de-bugged if it's anything like WAW's.

Far as weapons go, I'm glad to see strong secondarys return.

Also putting the konami code in the screen with ruin in the background (main menu) apperiently shows you a cool easter egg of the O4 and the Origins 4 lined up in a row facing each other.

I lied, but how cool would that be?

So after fully experiencing the beta and unlocking Reaper (my goal was achieved) I am thoroughly impressed to say the game is a beta and am excited for the full game release. Obviously there are some bugs etc but they now have time to fix that. I felt the weapons were balanced for definite, more balanced than any COD I have played to be honest. I loved the specialists, they were all unique and had their own ups and downs. Only thing that bothers me is that you can die as Ruin while mid gravity spike impaling, even if they are essentially in the ground. The reaper was awesome though, definitely going to be fun to use it. It is a shame that you lose your rank for the real game but I learned something from playing BO3, I can actually be good at a Call of Duty's MP. The last MP I was good at was Ghosts, not that hard to be good at but what I liked about BO3 was that the movement made it really stand out compared to other cods. Also it was as much like Titanfall as I had hoped it would be, so my experience with the BO3 beta is definitely a good one.

This game has got some serious balance issues.

  • Kinetic Armor is pretty much useless, needs a serious buff
  • Nerfed Rejack is now completely useless, might as well just respawn.
  • Rolling Thunder and the GI Unit are a joke
  • The Dart is a shittier version of the Hunterkiller Drone
  • The Talon has some pathing issues, gets stuck from time to time.
  • And like @Lenne said, the spawns are horrible.

Agreed. I have no idea why so many people wanted it nerfed, and now It is by far the most useless specialist ability out there.

I thought the main advantage of using rejack was how it kept your scorestreak and when i read they removed it, i literally thought it became completely useless and the only thing it does now is stops 1 death from counting.
