I wouldn't say that. It's easily a one hit kill up to the mid 20's.

Plus it conserves ammo....

I've gotten lucky a few times with gobble gum and unlocked the weapon.

Want a real challenge, unlock the other perk machine with no power.

ehh, i kinda expected it to do much more and its not even upgradable, why cant it have just given us Mark 2s instead.

It's good for dog rounds, pretty much always put them down in one shot. That's mainly when I use mine, apart from the very rare occurrence of no ammo for my guns.

It's acquired very easily, so to get a gun that's damage is as high as it is, is really good in my opinion.

The use of the gun isn't the issue here.  It's the challenge to get it.
