Way back in BO1, zombies fans were AMAZED to find out that the final map pack for that game would feature  a DLC that consisted of the 4 original WAW maps, and an all new stunning map: Moon.

We've yet to see this phenomenon happen again in the 2 games sense then that have had zombie content.

Sadly, I don't think we'll be getting an all zombies DLC, here's why:

-1: The season's pass. Black ops 1 didn't have one, but BO2 did, and so does BO3. By implementing this you have to look at it from a zombies, AND a multiplayer perspective. A majority of COD players play for MP, not zombies, so if DLC 4 was devoid of multiplayer maps, there's a good chance the MP community will feel jipped and outraged.

-2: Content: The hardened and special editions of BO1 came with the WAW maps, meaning they were already included into the game. BO3, only came out with "The giant" similar to how BO2 came out with nothing but "nuketown" zombies. If they did release an all zombies DLC what would be in it? Maybe the giant, but players who have at least the seasons pass would have had that long ago. They'd likely get another original map, but what about the rest? What would occupy that space? How would you chose which maps to add? They wouldn't create 2-4 NEW maps, even if they were tiny. And picking and choosing what maps would return based off what? Maybe der eisendrache has some serious ties with "moon" but aside from that, nothing from BO2 would be re-made (too big and complicated), and just re-releasing WAW maps again would be lame. Maybe if they re-created the WAW maps like they did with "The giant" that'd be cool:

The Night: Wall running, gobble gum, wonderfizz, and pack-a-punch all make it into this revisioning of this classic bunker-style map.

The Asylum: Return to the horrors of Verruct with all new access to new perks, gobble-gum, and an all new horde of kick-assery.

The swamp: Zombies arn't the only monsters here. Complete with a kick-ass flame thrower and all new weaponry, killing freak-bags has never felt so surreal.

Totally making map concepts for these now:

But I doubt we'll see that too...

Now. On the other hand:

-BO3 is really surprising me. It's a really innovative game (compared to other CODs) what with DOA2, the free-run courses (leaderboards for that are TOTALLY fucked BTW), and the weapon kits. Der eisendrache also has blown me away with how nostalgic they've gone with the story. It's very romanesque of the golden age of zombies (to me): The black ops 1 era. I wouldn't put it past treyarch to pull an all zombies DLC.

-Compromise: An idea we discussed a while back, were custom skins for the specialists in MP that looked like the zombies team. So the gravity spikes would be wielded by a dempsey character with the ragnarok DG-4s.  An excellent idea I'd like to think. I've always wanted to know who would win in a shootout: Dempsey or Nikolai?

Another concept would be to release the giant, and now maybe even der eisendrache, as multiplayer maps. That'd be cool.

As well, the maps have been devoid of BO2's game-mode maps like grief and turned. Some say that's a good thing, but it's definitely a possibility DLC 4 would unlock gamemode-versions of maps. But that's much less likely considering we've been told there is no plans for future gamemode-maps.

I think the map packs will be similar to the way they were with black ops 2, where there is only one zombies map per pack. That being said, if every map can enamor me like der eisendrache has, I wont be complaining :D

I would love to see an all zombies map pack again, but I think that was more a product of circumstance for BO1, rather than like really planed out. More like "we made these for the special editions, might as well sell them now" type of thing.

With the dev tools hanging over our heads, not having an all zombies DLC wont bother me very much, because I know the map making community will release some amazing creations in the coming years.

It could work as a fifth DLC pack. Considering us console players will miss out on a majority of zombies content what with custom maps coming and with that we will be left with only 6 maps.

On the other hand, I doubt Activision will let it be a thing as Black Ops 1 is coming to the Backwards Compatibility on the Xbox in the coming month.

But who knows, maybe they will do it for the fans. I for one would be ecstatic to see updated versions of the Black Ops 1 maps on the current generation consoles.

I would love to see a re-release of all the maps.  I would pay another 20 dollars just to have them all on one console.  I do not relish the idea of changing systems just to play my favorites.  If this is in fact the last Black Ops, then this version of Zombies will be over.  Give me all the maps so I can continue playing until Treyarch decides what to do with the franchise.

I don't think we'll get an all zombies dlc... but I think there's a small chance of 2-3 zombie maps in the last dlc though. Probably remakes of the most popular Black Ops zombie maps if it happens.

But then could it be possible for Treyarch/Activision to release a "bonus" dlc after dlc4? With old zombie map remakes. I doubt they will but I'd like to get at least WaW and BO1 maps all on PS4.

The problem is that the season pass already says there will be 4 packs, each containing 4 mp maps and 1 zombies chapter. If they were to do an all zombies pack, it would have to be outside the season pass. Either that or they could do a map like transit for dlc 4. I dont mean fog and denezins, I mean one large map and 3 or 4 sub maps.

Yeah that's why I said "bonus" dlc... I could easily spend money on all zombies dlc especially if they're not all remakes :)

And I don't actually think the sub map thing is good, because it's just so lazy way to add more maps... but then again I'd want some smaller maps too that are simple to pick up and play without having to think about too much :D

Unless they incorporate zombies items into MP as well as more new maps.

-There's the classic "zombies casts outfits" that make ruin and prophet look like dempsey and richtofen.

-The giant is a MP map

-Most of Der Eisendrache is a MP map

-Idk what else is a MP map.

I like the idea of Nacht having just a Wunderfizz and no other perk machines. You might end up having to survive 30 rounds without getting Jugg, which still gives the advantage to the more skilled player.

Tell that to nuketown....

But yeah, I like the random feature. If I ever get around to making custom maps, I will design a box map where all perks are in the wonderfizz.

It could be fun yeah, but then again very frustrating like Nuk3town was... Though I'd want a harder map in BO3 but i don't want it to be hard because I have to get lucky to get juggernog...

I like Nuketown and I thought it was a great idea to have random perks, it would be way more boring if it wasn't for the changing of time and location.

I was surprised to see Der Eisendrache had stationary perks as well. I assumed it would be more like Shadows to be honest.

Yeah I like nuketown too in a way... it offers a good challenge, but when you're just wanting to go for a high round and fail multiple times because juggernog just doesn't want to appear it gets pretty frustrating. In comparison Shi No Numa which also had all the perks random and you couldn't know where they are until you open the huts, you still managed to open all the doors pretty early if you wanted.

ONLY thing I hated about Nuketown is that the Ray Gun was the most powerful weapon. Killing zombies at rounds 30+ just becomes zzzzzz....... The random perk machine locations/appearance I quite enjoyed tbh, adds a bit of excitement to the game when you're constantly begging for luck just to get set up  Reminds me of the old days when you had to get the all-powerful wonder weapons from the box rather than building or doing quests for them, there was always that element of luck and uncertainty that kept you on your toes.

Yes I liked when the box had the wonder weapons. But getting a wonder weapon before round 20 isn't necessary in any way though juggernog kinda is... I hope that at least one of the dlc maps for BO3 would have the wonder weapon in the box and give the random box a meaning again. Building the wonder weapons is kinda boring especially if you can get it done before round 10. In SOE I don't think it's even possible that early so in a way it's good, but you can get the bows upgraded too early in DE. In Origins it took a lot more effort to get the staffs done and I liked it, but in DE it's just too easy...

I think the map itself sort of dictates whether or not it's a bit of an ask to go 20 rounds without Jugg or not, for example getting to 20 without Jugg wasn't too bad on Nuketown, whereas on a map like Shangri La it'd be a pain. That said, what with being able to now take an extra hit without Jugg the classic "double-slap & WTF bro???" is no longer a thing which makes not having Jugg nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Yeah, I pretty much never use the box on BO3 anymore. I still did on The Giant to get the Wunderwaffe but since the Dead Wire update the Wunderwaffe now seems a bit redundant. Would have been nice if they changed the WW back to how it used to be with the quick chaining which can save your ass if you get trapped, which it can't do now. Sorta saddens me as a long-time player that what was once considered a great weapon all this time has now been made obsolete when it wasn't really even OP in the first place.

The further we get to DLC 4 the more I'm starting to believe we ARE going to be getting a zombies-based DLC.

The giant has yet to release for micro-transaction purchase. And they HAVE to release the giant for separate purchase at some point, after all, it's bad for business not to, and it contains vital parts to the grand cross-map easter egg. We're also LONG past due for it, considering it's almost May and Nuketown zombies was released mid-March.

(Warning, spoilers for Zetsubou no Shima ahead)

Spoiler

In zetsubou no Shima, richtofen states after the easter egg, that there is something that must be done before we can take out Nikolai 1.0.  This leads me to think the next map will NOT center around killing Nikolai at Stalingrad, but rather this "Insurance policy".

However, we still HAVE to kill Nikolai, so we HAVE to go to Stalingrad at some point, but I feel that'd be a VERY lack-luster final DLC. So what about a smaller map? Like with richtofen on the giant as part of an all-zombies DLC? You get the grand finale map, the giant, stalingrad and some other 4th place.

As much as I want it, it's probably not going to happen. Treyarch would be losing money if they gave it through season pass and if they charge for it then people would get pissy and rage on the internet. It's all about sacrificing money for the glorious zombie fanbase. I know a lot of people wouldn't mind putting in 20 bucks for the all-zombie DLC pack but that doesn't mean people will keep typing "I bought the season pass I should get everything!"

I hope and worry at the same time, I think I am overthinking this a tad bit hahaha.

I'm personally hoping for an all zombies DLC. THAT would be enough. Not EVERY map or even anything from BO2, but a kino re-make, a nacht over-haul, and maybe some MP maps that look like Zombies maps.... That's my paradise.

Honestly, I would LOVE an all zombies game. Screw Advanced Warfare, we ought to have Zombie Warfare!!! That should be Treyarch's next game. Have the campaign be centered around Zombies, moving from map to map, Multiplayer could include something like grief mode and some other objective-based zombies things. I think it would be freaking awesome. The problem is that they don't have the guts to do it, since they're too worried about copy and pasting successful games...

Oh well... I can dream!

I'd take waw remakes in BO3. I'll be happy when they toss the giant to last gen. BO3 guns, alternate ammo, and GG? That's a remake, not what we had in BO1.

BO1 guns were so bad that the remakes don't see play like the originals did, not to mention that multiple guns were a huge draw to zombies and Mule Kick was just insulting. For 4000, at least let us keep the gunslot when we go down, or make MK cost 1000 to balance it and you can buy it as a fifth perk, that would fix the terrible design of MK. But BO1 was about terrible things.

For the same reason, I'd like any BO1 maps remade in BO3 (except Moon, don't troll us). I think Shangri-La would be improved. "Five", with alternate ammo, GG, and any BO3 WW instead of the Freeze Gun sounds good. Maybe ditch the 'jews' , they were super annoying.

This is just an idea but, They are saying that we will be able to play DLC 4 zombies at COD XP. I highly doubt they will let anyone play and obviously leak info about their brand new, highly anticipated conclusion to their story. What if they let people play whatever maps they have remastered? if they did that is. If I saw Origins and Mob of the Dead I would be happy. But that is just my thoughts.
